Sprint to consolidate technologies to one network; degraded voice and data services expected

Posted by on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 in News.

Vanderbilt IT would like to bring the following scheduled maintenance to the community’s attention. Between 1 and 5 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, Sprint will begin the process of consolidating multiple network technologies into one new, seamless network. This 3G and LTE network will increase efficiency and enhance network coverage, call quality, and data speeds for customers across the U.S. The impact will be on a cell site by cell site basis until all sites have successfully migrated. Intermittent degraded CDMA voice and data services may occur during this time.
