VUIT Scheduled Decommission of Legacy SMTP VMs (shutdown)

Posted by on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in Outage.

VUIT will shut down the virtual machines that supported the legacy SMTP email transport layer on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. The workload that this legacy layer performed is now processed by Exchange, rendering these servers unnecessary. Though no negative impact is expected by this activity, the servers will be powered back on should an unidentified risk occur, per the normal decommission process.
