VU Directory security update

Posted by on Thursday, November 20, 2014 in Outage.

On Tuesday, Nov. 25, Vanderbilt IT will update a security component for VU Directory. The update may affect those who use this service.

VU Directory provides non-Microsoft e-mail clients with “address book” functionality, similar to the Outlook/Exchange global address list (GAL). In most cases, no action or configuration changes are required on your part; VUIT expects that the majority of e-mail clients will transparently support this security update.

If your e-mail client no longer displays the list of Vanderbilt users and their e-mail addresses after Nov. 25, you may need to update your e-mail client to a later version. Please contact your IT support provider for assistance.

If you have questions or need further information regarding this VU Directory update, please call the Vanderbilt Help Desk at 343-HELP (3-4357) to submit an incident to the VUIT Identity Operations – Directory Services team.
