About Me

Ajit Appari is a Research Assistant Professor at Owen Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University. Recently, he was Assistant Teaching Professor of Information Technology (IT) at Foisie Business School [2018-2019], Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA. Prior to Foisie, he was Assistant Professor of Healthcare Management and Policy at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Public Health [2013-2018]; a Research Fellow in the Glassmeyer/McNamee Center for Digital Strategies at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College [2008-2013]. During his doctoral training he served as Teaching Assistant/ Instructor at the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University [2002-2008].

His research focuses on two related areas: (a) the role of information technology in healthcare including organization-level impact of IT on quality and patient safety, and information security issues in healthcare; and (b) socioeconomics of health and health care delivery to priority population, particularly  people with multiple chronic conditions.
