Thousands of patients undergo vascular bypass surgery every year. This procedure involves the removal of a vein from the leg of the patient. This vein is then inserted into another part of the body where the vasculature has sustained damage in order to reroute the blood flow of a patient. For many patients, this procedures provides only a short term solution. These individuals must undergo repeated surgeries due to vascular graft failure. Our device was created to properly deliver a drug into the rerouted vessel that has been proven to mitigate the chances of vein failure.
