Participants will be able to use the <i>Oculus Go\u00a0<\/i>headset to try out the <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.vanderbilt.edu\/t2-my\/my-prd\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2593\/2018\/10\/RomeReborn.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-9211\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.vanderbilt.edu\/t2-my\/my-prd\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2593\/2018\/10\/RomeReborn.jpg\" alt=\"RomeReborn\" width=\"321\" height=\"196\" \/><\/a>project\u2019s recently published applications, including \u201cThe Roman Forum\u201d and \u201cA Flight over the Ancient City.\u201d Everyone is invited to have lunch and explore ancient Rome with us!<\/p>\n<p>Following the workshop, Frischer, a leading virtual archaeologist,\u00a0 will deliver the Norman L. and Roselea J. Goldberg Lecture at 4:10 pm in 203 Cohen Memorial Hall on the Peabody campus. Frischer, founding director of the <a href=\"http:\/\/vwhl.squarespace.com\/\">Virtual World Heritage Laboratory<\/a>, will bring ancient Rome back to life in his <a href=\"https:\/\/my.vanderbilt.edu\/arthistoryblog\/2018\/10\/virtual-archaeologist-bernard-frischer-to-deliver-goldberg-lecture-on-october-11\/\">lecture<\/a>, &#8220;Adventures in Digital Heritage,&#8221; with a reception to follow in the atrium.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Bernie&#8217;s lecture\u2014on intersections between digital humanities and cultural heritage\u2014covers ground on which we are all working closely these days,&#8221; said Betsey Robinson, acting chair and associate professor of history of art. &#8220;The lecture will also serve as our HART Alumni\/Reunion event, with a reception to follow, so hopefully this will provide us a chance to catch up with each other as well as former students.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.vanderbilt.edu\/t2-my\/my-prd\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2593\/2018\/10\/alanlequireberniefrischer.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-9362\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.vanderbilt.edu\/t2-my\/my-prd\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2593\/2018\/10\/alanlequireberniefrischer.jpg\" alt=\"alanlequireberniefrischer\" width=\"373\" height=\"281\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On October 10 Frischer and sculptor Alan LeQuire, known for his monumental sculpture of\u00a0 Athena Parthenos in the Nashville Parthenon, joined Professor Betsey Robinson&#8217;s Digital Heritage: Methods and Practice class for a roundtable with students at the Center for Digital Humanities.
