There are two layers of processing associated with the collection of data from the sensors:

MATLAB processing

Most data collection occurs in MATLAB, although there are exceptions, primarily in heart rate.

Data processing in MATLAB allows for discernment of the officer’s condition. Based on integration of the data from the five sensors ‒ plethysmograph, pressure conductive sheet, accelerometer, blood glucose sensor, and force sensor ‒ an assessment is made. This assessment can be communicated to a central dispatcher in a multitude of ways: e-mail, text message (seen below), and a real time monitoring web platform (QR code below).
