Casing Design
Description:
For our purposes, the Arduino and Bluetooth module must be housed in a protective casing to prevent damage to the system. We aim to house both these components together in a 3D printed case that can attach easily to an officer’s shoulder strap.
Updates:
April 20
Final Case Variation was printed. A loop for integration with the strap of the bulletproof vest was incorporated. Below, the case bottom is seen on the vest strap, shown in top left of the image.
March 6
The 3D Case was picked up from the Wondry.
Identified design flaws
- Need to redesign top cover (sliding lock into place not feasible for wiring)
- Add slot / channel for shoulder strap / “passant” for uniform integration
March 3
Queued 1st Case print
March 1
Attended Wondry Safety Seminar (possible uses below)
- Industrial Sewing Machine
- 3D Printing
- Sealable durable waterproof plastic (for pouch / wiring)
Completed 1st Case 3D Model
