Committees

Vanderbilt Blockchain has two specialized committees to expand our exploration and innovation in the Web3.0 space: The Development Committee and the Research Committee.

Development Committee:

The primary objective of the development committee is to promote and educate members on secure and scalable smart contract development. As part of the dev committee, members will:

  1. Learn how to write and maintain Solidity code
  2. Learn how to evaluate technical aspects of different blockchains and DeFi projects
  3. Obtain first-hand experience in interacting with DAOs and the Lens protocol.
  4. Organize workshops and sessions during biweekly meetings.

No computer science or programming experience is necessary, but prior experience can help you get up to speed a lot faster. This is a great opportunity to stand out from the different CS orgs on campus by showing your skills in a novel area and can help you apply to blockchain-related internships.

Applications for Committees for the fall semester of the 2022-2023 school year have closed.

Research Committee:

The primary objective of the research committee is to build and maintain a Blockchain Index on Set Protocol. Set Protocol allows investors to curate a portfolio of ERC-20 tokens and develop a publicly tradable security on the Ethereum Blockchain. As a part of the research committee, you will:

  1. Participate in the creation of our portfolio
  2. Aid in market and technical analysis,
  3. Source new investment opportunities
  4. Pitch crypto projects
  5. Curate PR on our token
  6. Publish reports to our website/social media.

The first few weeks will be focused on the creation of this portfolio. Following the establishment of our index, we plan on biweekly meetings where we will discuss the performance of our portfolio, vote on new suggestions, and curate PR on our index. This opportunity will be a great resumé builder and you will hopefully be able to speak to the performance of our index. No prior experience is required; however, it is preferable that candidates have a passion for finance/investment analysis and/or have a passion for researching crypto projects.
