Biotechnology: Interpreting its meaning
Posted by Bruce Jennings on Sunday, July 10, 2016 in Media, News.
This is a video of a 10 minute presentation I presented at a conference sponsored by the Center for Genetics and Society. It discusses what is ethically and socially questionable in recent advances in biotechnology such as synthetic biology, and more recently gene editing and gene drives. It raises a series of questions for further discussion and offers a framework for normative analysis in this area–precaution, dignity, and right relationship with nature.
