In January a new multi-volume reference work on environmental and Earth systems science was published as The Encyclopedia of the Anthropocene, D. A. DellaSalla and M. I. Goldstein, Editors-in-Chief, 1st ed. 5 vols. (Oxford, UK: Elsevier Publishing, 2017).
