Kelsey Webb

Kelsey2Kelsey graduated from UVa-Wise with a B.S. in chemistry and minors in physics and mathematics. While at UVa-Wise, she worked in Dr. Floyd Beckford’s lab conducting bioinorganic research. Her research projects involved synthesizing and characterizing novel copper and ruthenium complexes and investigating their interactions with biological macromolecules. She also spent a summer at UT Knoxville working with Dr. Bhavya Sharma using Raman spectroscopic techniques to detect neurotransmitters behind the skull.

Kelsey joined the Buchanan group in June 2017 and is currently investigating the bioactivity of nanoparticle-bound proteins using 2D-IR spectroscopy.

Outside of lab, Kelsey enjoys watching Netflix, traveling, and exploring new restaurants around Nashville.
