Amanda grew up in southern California and completed her B.S. in chemistry with a subplan in biochemistry at Cal Poly Pomona in 2018. She completed a senior thesis on the expression and purification of a bile acid oxidoreductase in support of crystallographic studies in the lab of Dr. Kathryn McCulloch. At Vanderbilt, she is co-mentored by Dr. Lars Plate. Her research project focuses on spectroscopically characterizing alpha-Synuclein. Outside of lab, she enjoys watching football, baseball, and hockey on TV or live.
