Lorena Harvey is in the Microbe-Host Interactions (MHI) graduate program. She is originally from Cancun, Q. Roo, Mexico. Over the years, Lorena found her way to the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where she completed her B.Sc. in Biology with a concentration in Microbiology. Her research is focused on determining the role of H. pylori ‘s Hop Outer Membrane Proteins in bacterial adherence and gastric colonization. Outside of lab, Lorena is a swing dancer, Henna artist, and avid dog lover.
