Workshop sessions discussed the variety of tools available to Vanderbilt faculty including two Brightspace tools that help move classes online: a screen capture tool that allows faculty to create video lectures that can easily be shared with students, as well as a video conferencing tool that enables live online meetings. <strong>If you missed the workshop, you can access it online (<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Esr6s5sZ0IY\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Esr6s5sZ0IY)<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Quick Start Guides from the Office of Faculty Affairs can also be found at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanderbilt.edu\/faculty-affairs\/tools-for-putting-your-courses-online\/\">Tools For Putting Your Courses Online page<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>There are several workshops being offered in May for Faculty Development. Topics include University finances, <strong>Accessible Online Teaching<\/strong>, and Conversations for Pre-Tenured Faculty.\u00a0 Registration and updated offerings will always be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanderbilt.edu\/faculty-affairs\/workshops-and-trainings\/\">available here<\/a>:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The Office of the Provost has developed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanderbilt.edu\/faculty-affairs\/faculty-online-and-alternative-education-resources\/\">Faculty Online and Alternative Education Resources<\/a> page with information about in-person training sessions and on-demand content. There is also information about Brightspace, creating a recorded video, video conferencing, audio conferencing, and additional faculty teaching guides and resources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cft.vanderbilt.edu\/\">Center for Teaching\u2019s Resources<\/a> for Just-in-Time Online Teaching are front and center on their website and they are adding content such as:\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cft.vanderbilt.edu\/online-exams\/\">Strategies and Tools for Online Exams.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cft.vanderbilt.edu\/2020\/05\/brightspace-support-add-zoom-drop-in-hours\/\">Brightspace Support add Zoom Drop-in Hours<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Online Course Design Institute, a two-week online experience intended to help participants prepare to teach an online course. <a href=\"https:\/\/cft.vanderbilt.edu\/ocdi\/\">Apply here<\/a>. There are 3 more sessions.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cft.vanderbilt.edu\/2020\/04\/title-using-top-hat-to-drive-student-engagement-in-asynchronous-learning\/\">TopHat, student engagement and asynchronous learning<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cft.vanderbilt.edu\/2020\/04\/flipgrid-empowering-voices-with-asynchronous-online-video-discussions\/\">Flipgrid, online discussion and asynchronous learning<\/a><\/li>\n<li>And even more <a href=\"https:\/\/cft.vanderbilt.edu\/2020\/04\/resources-for-remoteteaching-and-learning\/\">CFT resources<\/a>-captured as of April 16<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/registrar.vanderbilt.edu\/pass-fail-spring-2020-undergraduate.php\">Undergraduate Pass\/Fail FAQs<\/a> (Spring) or <a href=\"https:\/\/registrar.vanderbilt.edu\/pass-fail-summer-2020-undergraduate.php\">Summer 2020<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you discovered an article, Twitter feed, or other resources that helped you teach in an online format, please share them with us. We know you probably have access to others within your disciplines that could be of use to your colleagues here.
