Like for tracks consider things not metal<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Divide the modifications we need into teams and have teams focus on a few different modifications at a time<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Take the tape measure with us to measure items at toys r us<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Can also go to Lowes and look at tracks like ones in drawers. We need to stop just looking at google. Go to home depot<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For buttons look at adafruit and digikey<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Plan to purchase materials rather than makerspace things. Have a before and after<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Need to get a bucket together of materials we need from Lower\u2019s cart (done)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Meeting 2\/3 with kids and Teresa at Belmont: Taylor<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">got to see Clayton and Luke again<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Teresa offered some valuable information on things almost all children with mobility impairments have<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Stressed that the posterior pelvic tilt causes them to slump forward and then their arms turn in and their head tilts to one side and their body also leans to one side ; this causes weakness in half their body and they begin to only look out of one eye and leads to monocular vision and then at some point their less dominant eye stops receiving information from their environment altogether <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She said to have their hips aligned and back of their hips against the seat back and have some kind of back support that forces them to sit up straight and bring their chest up allowing their arms to extend properly and then allow proper control of their hands <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Meeting 2\/3 with Nancy at High Hopes: Nick and Amanda<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">One girl: Lower body muscle weakness, like trouble going up the stairs she has to crawl. Goals are going up curb sized steps on her own<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">One girl: CP, had surgery to cut some spinal nerves<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What have you found works best for the kids using the cars?<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The kids that are going in the car need the car to some significant postural support, chest strap, hip strap to hold the hips tight, height adaptable seat would be good because the kids get taller. Look at the 5 point convertible infant seat. 5 point would be good so we can adjust it and make it super tight.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maybe put a board for them to sit up straight but still lean back for the head. Definitely a board. Maybe velcro or clips to get it on the chair. Make sure the board isn&#8217;t too thick or find a way to do it so it doesn&#8217;t take away from the actual seat portion. Either a board or a new seat<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Don&#8217;t put an infant seat in it because the kids tend to lean back<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What modifications do you guys have on your car?<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pool noodles and kickboards and pvc pipe. Built a cage. That&#8217;s for postural support<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They built buttons with a doorbell from home depot and plexiglass for activation<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Big red button is good. Sound and light are good motivators. Maybe put it on the foot too, put velcro on back of button and and be able to stick it anywhere<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Is there anything you see could be added or would like to see?<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cross bar on the steering wheel is good<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Be able to cut any noise or light it makes. Disconnect the horn if there is one<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She likes the motor controller<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Middle and side foam for legs but velcro in and out<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">High hopes takes kids from 8 weeks to 7 years<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Several kids have cerebral palsy<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They use life age? Quality of life index<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They also do 10 minute recording videos<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They&#8217;re going to send us the IRB for their go baby car they have, which will be good because they have all the data and organized code and it&#8217;s really cool. Will be good for qualitative analysis<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They&#8217;re doing a 16 week study<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We had to tell her we can&#8217;t do the remote, sorry<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Baby reflex: on stomach curl up, on back stretch out<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Yes to pressure sensor, no to head strap. Maybe try and make an option where the car is activated by standing. Could be cool<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Check out rifton and amtryke<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;creating a whole plethora of movement options for these kids is important. Anything to make them feel typical.&#8221; &#8211; Nancy Darr<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Send nancy an email reminder for: IRB, schedule of when
