At the CFT we can tell because the career-focused session &#8220;Beyond the Ivory Tower: Alternative and Non-Academic Career Choices&#8221; at our upcoming gradSTEP event is a popular choice. So popular that we&#8217;ve decided to add a second session of this workshop to our line-up that day to accommodate everyone who is interested in exploring some of the issues and opportunities in careers outside of academia.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;\">\u201cBeyond the Ivory Tower: Alternative and Non-Academic Career Choices,\u201d set to take place on January 26<\/span><sup style=\"font-family: inherit;\">th<\/sup><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;\"> from 12:45-1:50pm (this session is full) and <\/span><strong style=\"font-family: inherit;\">will repeat from 2:00-3:05 <\/strong>at Buttrick Hall (Room TBD)<span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;\">.\u00a0 Both sessions of the workshop will feature Dr. Ruth Schemmer, Assistant Dean for Career Development, who will speak and answer questions on the alternative and non-academic job markets.\u00a0 Whether you\u2019re on the job market now or planning ahead, we hope to see you there!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Held in January each year,<strong>GradSTEP<\/strong> provides several workshops and discussions on teaching, learning, and professional development issues across the disciplines.
