Support Requests

Every effort will be made to provide financial support to participants who have no alternative source of funding. Preference will be given to graduate students, recent PhDs, and underrepresented groups. Please notice that funds are limited. We encourage participants to seek inexpensive options regarding their travel and lodging expenses.

In order to request support, please register here, and indicate that you are requesting funding. Support requests should be submitted as soon as possible, but no later than November 15, 2021. You will be contacted by the organizers prior to the conference regarding your request.

In case you request for financial support if approved, please keep all relevant receipts, making sure that each receipt displays the last four digits of the card used for payment. Email all receipts together in a single PDF document to Donna Ray Anthony (donna.r.anthony@Vanderbilt.Edu), no later than December 15, 2021. Donna Ray Anthony will also direct you to complete certain online forms required by the university for reimbursement procedures.

Please be advised that according to U.S. immigration laws, individuals who enter the U.S. and wish to be reimbursed for travel-related expenses should enter on an F-1, B-1/B-2, WB/WT, or J-1 visa; however, certain limitations pertaining to reimbursements apply. We advise you to contact your local U.S. embassy or U.S. consulate to inquire which visa rules (pertaining to reimbursements) apply to your country.

Reimbursement will be processed after the workshop is over. Due to the University requirements for processing these, it is not possible to provide any reimbursement during the workshop.
