We have set up weekly meetings with our mentor from Halma. Through these meetings, we have discussed the current problems with the device, both from a patient and a provider standpoint. Our mentor has provided us with literature and documentation about the current visual field industry, as well as Halma’s device prototype.
To gain a better first-hand understanding of the changes that need to be made to current visual field devices, we have asked Vanderbilt ophthalmologists about their experiences with the testing process. We have met with one ophthalmologist so far, who has given us valuable feedback about patient experiences with existing devices, and we will continue contacting additional physicians and technicians throughout the upcoming weeks.
