{"id":7,"date":"2016-10-03T22:24:30","date_gmt":"2016-10-03T22:24:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/my.vanderbilt.edu\/jacobabell\/current-courses\/"},"modified":"2020-11-12T15:41:30","modified_gmt":"2020-11-12T20:41:30","slug":"current-courses","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/my.vanderbilt.edu\/jacobabell\/current-courses\/","title":{"rendered":"Teaching"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In addition to teaching\u00a0introductory or intermediate language courses\u00a0each semester (Fall 2016 through Fall 2018), I have also developed course content and led classes as a teaching assistant in\u00a0a cinema course\u00a0taught at the Cannes Film Festival and an ancient art history course taught in Rome.<\/p>\n<p>In the classroom, I use my background as a theater artist to foster a communicative environment in which students feel the freedom\u00a0to make mistakes while also challenging themselves to develop their emerging\u00a0communication skills. I value introducing students to a variety of francophone cultures found throughout <em>L<\/em><em>a Francophonie<\/em>\u00a0of the past and present.
