As a postdoctoral researcher with my advisor, Dr. Jon H. Kaas, I am co-mentored by senior researcher Dr. Huixin Qi, and together we have been pursuing multiple approaches to studying somatosensory and motor systems in normal monkeys and monkeys with spinal cord injury. Dr. Kaas has 45 years of experience studying primate brain organization, with seminal papers on plasticity and recovery after peripheral and central nervous system injury.
