Hello, and welcome to my portfolio! My name is Joseph Lovinger.
I am a Senior at Vanderbilt University double-majoring in English Literature and Political Science, with a concentration in American Government. I express myself most sincerely with the written word, and have a passion for communicating complex ideas through prose.
Outside of class, I am a digital communications consultant for Nashville Metro Councilwoman Jennifer Gamble. Before that, I was a political campaigns and communications intern for Calvert Street Group.
One way my interest in communication through cogent prose manifests is my passion for journalism. Previously, I have covered news at the intersection of technology and culture for The Verge. I have further honed my journalistic bona fides with The Vanderbilt Political Review, where I write about local and national politics with a focus on the interplay between media and government. Once a week, I write casual, experimental explainers on American politics for my blog.
