We will be piloting the CS project preregistration system for students graduating in Fall 2024 and spring 2025 according to their YES records.\u00a0 If on January 8th, 2024, your YES record showed that you are graduating by spring 2025 you are eligible for this program and should have received information on how to preregister.\u00a0 If you have not received information about preregistration, contact your CS advisor.<\/p>\n

If you changed your graduation date after January 8th 2024, you will register in the usual YES system.<\/p>\n

The online registration form for eligible students for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 can be found here<\/a>.\u00a0 This form closes on Tuesday 1\/16, 11:55PM.\u00a0 A brief description of the courses offered for AY24 can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Computer Science Project Preregistration<\/h2>\n

The CSPP program was created to help rising seniors plan for their required project \/immersion experience.<\/p>\n

Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n

The program is open to all CS majors whose graduation date\u00a0in YES<\/strong>\u00a0is Fall 24 or Spring 25. This is for both primary and secondary majors.\u00a0 If you have completed your project course by the spring of your junior year, you are not eligible (nor do you\u00a0need<\/em>\u00a0the program) and you do not need to take any action.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how it works.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. At the beginning of the spring semester of your junior year, prior to registration for your senior fall, the department will publish a list of project courses and project prerequisite courses that will be offered the following fall, along with a list of project courses we anticipate offering the following spring (of your senior year).<\/li>\n
  2. Eligible students can rank up to three project course or prerequisite\/project course pairs that they would like to take.<\/li>\n
  3. These course choices will be one of the following types:\n
      \n
    1. A project prerequisite (fall) and project course (spring) pair<\/li>\n
    2. A project course (fall);\u00a0you must meet all prerequisites before fall \u201824 with completed courses or courses you are currently enrolled in, this may include study abroad courses but not summer \u201824 transfer courses<\/em><\/li>\n
    3. A project course (spring);\u00a0you must meet all prerequisites before spring \u201925 and only need the project seat reserved<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    4. The department will then match each requesting student with a project course.\u00a0 If a course is oversubscribed a random draw will be done to fill the available seats.<\/li>\n
    5. If you complete your selection before the published deadline<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
        \n
          \n
        1. You will be enrolled in one of your fall \u201824 selections prior to registration (if you selected one)<\/li>\n
        2. You will be sent instructions prior to spring \u201825 registration to confirm your spring course choice; you will then be enrolled in the subsequent spring project course prior to spring registration.<\/li>\n
        3. Only students who took part in CSPP in the spring of their junior year will be given the opportunity to early enroll in the spring project courses.\u00a0 You cannot opt into the program late, in the fall of your senior year.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/ol>\n

          1. During your regular registration period, you are free to sign up for any other open courses you want or need beyond the course(s) you were given a seat in.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            If you choose to participate in CSPP and submit your form by the published deadline<\/p>\n
