Lauren Brinkley-Rubinstein is a fifth year PhD candidate in the Community Research and Action program at Vanderbilt University and has conducted criminal justice and public health relevant research for seven years.  Her primary research interests include investigating the social context of health, the impact of incarceration and drug laws on health, health equity and health policy.  Lauren has an educational background in sociology/criminology and research experience in health research methodology with a focus on health disparities and the social determinants of health. She is also well versed in the needs of the Nashville HIV community as she collaborated with community members and organizations to conduct and write the Nashville area HIV Needs Assessment from 2008-2010.
