Progress Report 11/8/18
Our goal last week was to find another accelerometer to test on one of our team members and compare that data to the data gathered by the Galloway team. We also needed to complete a Design Project Form for the School of Engineering with relevant information about our project.
Right now, we are working on developing the Arduino code which we’ll use to gather data from our Adafruit accelerometer. Once that code works, we’ll make the headband and attach the accelerometer so that we can test it out on one of the team members and we will work on a method for visualizing and storing the data. This week, we also completed the Design Project Form for the School of Engineering.
We are waiting to hear back from Dr. Walker in regards to determining which category our project falls into in order to complete our intellectual property agreement. We also are still waiting to hear back from the Galloway team with the initial data that they’ve gathered from the patient.
Over the weekend, we need to develop our Arduino code further so that we’ll be able to visualize and save data from the accelerometer. We also need to securely attach the electric components to a headband for initial data collection. We are also planning on meeting with our project advisor tomorrow afternoon for additional guidance moving forward.
We need to continue researching different ways to insulate the electronics so that the device will be protected from possible electric fires. Next week, we will starting developing an oral progress report as well.
