Update 3/31

Posted by on Sunday, March 31, 2019 in News.

Our project will now involve looking back at old data to see if our methods will change dosing for metoprolol significantly. Our project will eventually lead to see if doing genetic tests and using their results to see if their dosing recommendations are better than current best practice dosing.

Last time we were attempting to get IRB submitted. We got this, but it came with some complications.  The IRB has finally submitted, but it will not be approved in time for graduation So to compensate, we will use already existing data. This is a little complicated as it has to be de-identified, so that may take a few days. Additionally, there are not a lot of patients who’ve had the genetic test and are  considering looking at other drug. This will give us a much wider range of options and will give us better data. It may be hard to look through all data if we are given all the records, but it’s likely we’ll only get the results of genetic tests analyst of prescriptions.
