The article notes\u00a0that as of June 2017,\u00a0roughly\u00a0400 banks and credit unions reported providing services to marijuana-related businesses. It suggests that some states (like Washington) have facilitated access by helping these banks comply with the Treasury Department&#8217;s (FinCen&#8217;s) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fincen.gov\/resources\/statutes-regulations\/guidance\/bsa-expectations-regarding-marijuana-related-businesses\" target=\"_blank\">2014<\/a> guidance to financial institutions (discussed in the book on pages 681-695).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The article also notes that Hawaii\u00a0recently launched a cashless payment system for its medical marijuana industry.
