Our aspirations in the Patel Lab are two-fold. We are an ambitious bunch with a desire to pursue fundamental science of the highest quality. We are equally ambitious in our desire to create a positive and a supportive lab environment.
We welcome anyone and everyone who is interested in doing great science! Dolly Parton put it best when she said, “I don’t care if it’s men, women, girls, boys, gay, straight, black, blue, alien gray. I think everybody has a right to live, be productive, and be who they are.”
Interested candidates should contact Maulik directly. Please include a cover letter and a CV, and arrange for sending recommendation letters directly from three references.
Students in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program (IGP), the Quantitative and Chemical Biology (QCB) Program, the Biological Sciences Program (BSP), or the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) who are interested in our research are encouraged to do a rotation in the lab.
Vanderbilt undergraduates interested in pursuing research in the lab should email Maulik directly. Undergraduates from other colleges or universities interested in summer research opportunities in the lab should apply for summer research through the Vanderbilt Summer Science Academy (VSSA).
