Her dissertation research centers on <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/sites.google.com\/view\/exileparabolas\" target=\"_blank\">parabolic representations of exile<\/a><\/strong> among the Spanish Civil War exiles living in Mexico.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">She is currently a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow for Digital and Public Humanities at Vanderbilt University.\u00a0In collaboration with the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ateneoesmex.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ateneo espa\u00f1ol de M\u00e9xico<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0her current research project focuses on\u00a0building the crowdsourced story map <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/exilio3639.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Exile3639.com<\/a><\/strong> to capture the stories of members of the Spanish Civil War exile community.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Prior to graduating, Melanie worked as the Program Assistant for the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanderbilt.edu\/csls\/\" target=\"_blank\">Center for Second Language Studies<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0at Vanderbilt.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">She was a Mellon fellow in Digital Humanities, a HASTAC scholar,\u00a0an instructor for elementary and intermediate Spanish,\u00a0and is a co-founder of the online digital teaching repository\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.languagepanda.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Language Panda<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Melanie Forehand\u00a0holds a Ph.D. in Spanish\u00a0from Vanderbilt University.
