I would like to be part of the research that aims to contribute to our understanding of the structural connectivity of the brain by analyzing the white matter and gray matter imaging data with a focus on underlying tissue microstructure features that could aid in clinical applications. This includes the study of fiber structure, myelin, and biophysics using diffusion tensor imaging data and other emerging diffusion MRI techniques like neurite orientation dispersion and density imaging NODDI that relate more directly to and provide more specific markers of brain tissue microstructure than do standard indices from diffusion tensor imaging, such as fractional anisotropy.
