In recent years, the interest in non-classical logics and its connections with ordered algebraic structures has been growing. Motivations from computer science, natural language reasoning and linguistics have played a significant role in this development. The aim of the Shanks Workshop on Ordered Algebraic Structures and Logic, to be held in the Department of Mathematics of Vanderbilt University, 22-23 February 2014, is to bring together experts on both ordered structures and non-classical logics with the purpose of promoting further investigation into interactions between the two areas. The organizers of the workshop are J. Gil-Férez (University of Cagliari, Italy), C. Tsinakis (Vanderbilt University, USA), and H. Zhou (Shaanxi Normal University, China).
