Welcome to Vanderbilt’s graduate Introduction to Developmental Biology course. Each summer, students complete lecture and hands-on coursework with multiple classic model organisms, as well as a focused clinical observation of a specific organ system in the pediatric context. At the end of the course, students must synthesize their studies of a specific model organism and tissue to ask: what does this model system teach us about human development and disease? Feel free to browse the listings above to learn more about specific organism / organ pairings from this year’s class.
