Stecher appointed to the National Research Council Committee on Incentives and Test Base Accountability in Public Education

Brian Stecher, a senior social scientist in the education program at RAND Corporation, and a researcher for the National Center on Performance Incentives, was appointed to the National Research Council Committee on Incentives and Test Base Accountability in Public Education. The Committee’s charge includes synthesizing the research related to incentives and test-based accountability in K-12 education and to develop a framework that integrates the scientific arguments for and against the use of test based incentives in public education and provides advice about the types of test-based accountability that are most likely to be successful.
