USA Today identifies NCPI as offering best research on pay-for-performance

A recent USA Today article identifies the National Center on Performance Incentives (NCPI) as offering the best research on the pay for performance movement. NCPI is a national research and development center led by Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College. The signature research initiative is a randomized field trial in Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools (TN). It is the first randomized experiment in the nation to evaluate the effect of pay for performance in public education. NCPI is also conducting evaluations of pay for performance programs in Texas and Florida.

Institutional partners include the RAND Corporation and University of Missouri – Columbia.
