NCPI presents research at American Education Finance Association 2008 Conference

NCPI affiliates presented research on performance incentives and teacher pensions at the 33rd Annual American Education Finance Association Conference in Denver (CO). AEFA’s conference provided NCPI affiliates with an opportunity to share findings from their evaluation work in Texas on a panel chaired by NCPI’s director Matthew Springer. Jessica Lewis presented a paper, “Texas Performance Incentives: Why Some Schools Chose Not to Participate”, and Lori Taylor presented findings on “The Determinants of Teacher-Designed Incentive Pay: Evidence from Texas”. Michael Podgursky also presented his research on teacher pensions featuring a paper entitled “The Effect of Teacher Pensions on Retirement, Mobility, and Workforce Withdrawal”.
