NCPI’s evaluation efforts in Texas showcased in Education Week

NCPI affiliates concluded their first-year evaluation of the nation’s largest state-wide performance incentive program, the Texas Governor’s Educator Excellence Award Program. Education Week showcases the key findings which were discussed at NCPI’s national research-to-policy conference, recently held in Nashville. Researchers discussed the program design features implemented in school-developed performance incentive programs, preliminary teacher attitudes and professional practices, and other implementation findings, such as why some eligible schools opted out of the state-funded program.
