NCPI’s research in Florida informs performance pay debate

As educators, policymakers, and the general public debate the merits of performance pay policy in Florida they are able to learn from the survey research conducted by NCPI affiliates. The work of Matthew Springer, director of NCPI, and Brian Jacob, professor of education policy at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, provides insight about teachers’ attitudes toward incentive pay policy and design. Such systematically collected findings inform the discussion in Florida about which measures of performance should be considered when paying teachers.
