NCPI director speaks at NGA Center for Best Practices Meeting

NCPI director Matthew Springer spoke recently at the National Governor’s Association’s Center for Best Practices Cross-State Academy Meeting. The two day event focused on creating new models of teacher compensation that enhance teacher effectiveness. Professor Springer spoke during the opening session about key elements and design decisions for new models of teacher compensation. More specifically, he addressed key decision points and factors for structuring a new teacher compensation model, including changes to base pay, bonuses, measures of teacher performance and practice, and the necessary support systems that districts and states must have in place.
