Pint, Ph.D.\u00a0 (CV &#8211;\u00a003\/2019: <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.vanderbilt.edu\/t2-my\/my-prd\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/553\/2012\/05\/C_Pint_CV_2019.pdf\">C_Pint_CV_2019<\/a>)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Prof. Pint has moved to Iowa State University as the Charles Schafer (Battelle) Chair in Engineering, with appointment in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.\u00a0 Please check out new site: <a href=\"https:\/\/faculty.sites.iastate.edu\/carypint\/prof-cary-pint\">https:\/\/faculty.sites.iastate.edu\/carypint\/prof-cary-pint<\/a> for most updated information.\u00a0 Prof. Pint still maintains a title of Adjoint Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Vanderbilt University.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-557\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.vanderbilt.edu\/t2-my\/my-prd\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/553\/2012\/05\/Cary2.jpg\" alt=\"Cary\" width=\"244\" height=\"287\" \/>Professor Cary L. Pint <\/strong>is an expert\u00a0in energy materials and\u00a0technology, nanomaterials, sustainability and CO2 conversion, and \u00a0manufacturing.\u00a0 He joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Vanderbilt University where he has been on the faculty since July 2012.\u00a0 After defending his Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Rice in 2010, he carried out a brief postdoctoral appointment at UC Berkeley and subsequently worked as a Research Scientist at Intel Labs focused on energy storage technology until joining Vanderbilt as a faculty member.\u00a0 Cary has published\u00a0~ 115 peer reviewed journal articles in top journals such as <em>Nature Materials<\/em>, <em>Nature Communications<\/em>, <em>Nano Letters<\/em>, and <em>ACS Nano<\/em>, holds 13 granted patents,\u00a0with numerous pending patent applications and additional conference papers.\u00a0 Cary is an Associate Editor at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.journals.elsevier.com\/energy-storage-materials\/\">Energy Storage Materials<\/a> &#8211;\u00a0the highest impact journal devoted to this\u00a0dynamic research area.\u00a0\u00a0Cary\u00a0is the co-founder and\u00a0Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skynanotechnologies.com\/\">SkyNano LLC<\/a>, a company spun off from his laboratory that boasts the only economically sound technology pathway to address CO2 emissions.\u00a0\u00a0Cary was an inspirational figure\u00a0to the development of <a href=\"https:\/\/gridspanenergy.com\/\">GridSpan Energy,<\/a> a company commercializing a revolutionary mobile energy\u00a0transmission platform,\u00a0and\u00a0maintains a position on the advisory board.\u00a0 Cary has been recognized as one of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/special-report\/2011\/30-under30-12\/30-under-30-12_science.html\">Forbes Magazine \u201ctop 30 under 30\u201d<\/a> disrupters in Science and Innovation (2012), is a recipient of the ORAU Ralph E.
