Project SIGMa
Project TAU is a follow-up to Project SIGMa. In SIGMa, we have co-designed a video feedback protocol with experienced math teachers to help them investigate their practice. Across 33 video debriefs with our 13 teacher participants, questions consistently arose around the monitoring phases of their lessons, suggesting that monitoring is a complex and uncertain practice, even for accomplished teachers. This finding provided the groundwork for us to design Project TAU.
One of the major outputs of Project SIGMa is the book Teacher Learning of Ambitious and Equitable Mathematics Instruction, authored by project investigators Ilana Horn and Brette Garner, with contributions from other project members, and published by Routledge.
