Please join us in congratulating Lisa Fazio, who was recognized with the Chancellor’s Award for Research at the Fall Faculty Assembly. This award highlights her outstanding contributions to advancing our understanding of the psychological mechanisms underlying misinformation.

Her recognition is based on her role in the highly influential article:

Ecker, U. K. H., Lewandowsky, S., Cook, J., Schmid, P., Fazio, L. K., Brashier, N., Kendeou, P., Vraga, E. K., & Amazeen, M. A. (2022). The psychological drivers of misinformation belief and its resistance to correction. Nature Reviews Psychology, 1, 13‐29.

This important work examines why misinformation is so persistent and difficult to correct, and it has made a significant impact in both psychological science and the broader public discourse. We are thrilled to celebrate Lisa’s achievement—this award is very well deserved!
