Professor Barsky constructed this course in order to teach students about the experiences of refugees from across history.\u00a0 There was\u00a0a single criterion for our final project; create something that could benefit the world.\u00a0 Our creations were based on our skill set and talents.\u00a0 He wanted us to take our passions and develop them into a work that truly depicted our interests within the subject.\u00a0 Students are currently exploring art and its ability to transcribe the stories of refugees into palpable messages, the use of engineering and how dinghies\u00a0used to cross the ocean are designed for failure, and even the appropriation of the Oregon Trail as a way to force people to consider the tough decisions refugees must make.\u00a0 This website was created as an aspect of a multi-layered project that hopes to discuss the humanity behind the refugee experience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
