A Rare Cause of Multiple Intestinal Mass Lesions

Question: A 61-year-old man was referred to our hospital because of constant midabdominal pain. He reported no nausea, vomiting, or bloody stool. During physical examination, there were hyperactive bowel sounds and moderate tenderness in the umbilical region without guarding or rebound tenderness. His stool was hemoccult positive. Laboratory studies showed anemia and elevated leukocyte count (17.9 × 109/L; neutrophil percentage, 75.8%). Contrast-enhanced computed tomography showed ileoileal intussusception and multiple intestinal masses ranging from 1.0 to 2.8 cm in diameter (Figure A, B).
