Video Capsule Endoscopy: A Reference Guide and Atlas

Video capsule endoscopy (VCE) was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration in 2001 as an adjunctive aid for the evaluation of the small intestine, and in 2003 as a first-line modality for the evaluation of small intestinal disorders. Since that time, there have been remarkable advances in the usage of VCE, including improved optics, enhanced field of view, ability to record for longer duration, and ability to visualize findings outside the small bowel, including the esophagus and colon. The purpose of this book is to provide an updated atlas of VCE findings to provide practicing gastroenterologists who are performing VCE with comprehensive sets of images and videos that enable them to better understand lesions seen on VCE.
