High Efficacy of ABT-493 and ABT-530 Treatment in Patients With HCV Genotype 1 or 3 Infection and Compensated Cirrhosis
The combination of ABT-493 (NS3/4A protease inhibitor) plus ABT-530 (NS5A inhibitor) has shown high rates of sustained virologic response at post-treatment week 12 (SVR12) in noncirrhotic patients infected with hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotypes (GTs) 1… Continue reading

Effect of Registries and Cohort Studies on HCV Treatment
The rapid development of new treatments for hepatitis C virus (HCV) has truly been astonishing over the last 3 years with the introduction of all oral direct-acting antivirals (DAAs). Multiple therapeutic regimens are now available for patients depending on viral genotype.1–6 Although no comparative studies exist between regimens, all have very similar overall sustained virologic response (SVR) rates of >95% in a broad range of patients, with the best response in genotype 1 compared with genotypes 2 and 3. Acinar Ductal Metaplasia: Yap Fills a Gap
Gruber et al1 demonstrate that YAP/TAZ activity is critical for acinar ductal metaplasia (ADM) by crossing conditional knock-out mice with the well-studied LSL-Kras model of PDAC. They also provide evidence that YAP/TAZ may be sufficient, because ecto… Continue reading
