A Weight-Management Program for Obese Reflux Patients Is Effective and Improves Symptoms: Interim Analysis of a Clinical Decision Support Tool

Weight-loss counseling for obese patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is an established quality metric, but occurs in a minority of patients. The aim of this quality-improvement initiative was to utilize clinical decision support (CDS) to enroll obese GERD patients into a weight-management program and measure the impact of interventions on weight, symptom control, and proton pump inhibitor (PPI) utilization.
