It is with profound sadness that we note the loss of Dr Lawrence Lumeng who passed away on June 21, 2017, at age 77, following a long battle against progressive pulmonary fibrosis that was triggered by a viral lung infection in 2004. As a founding member of the Indiana Alcohol Center he made numerous seminal contributions to the field of alcoholism, alcohol metabolism, and alcoholic liver disease.
