We thank the authors for their correspondence regarding our recent article on the association between aflatoxin and gallbladder cancer (GBC) in Gastroenterology.1 As the authors of this letter discuss, there are a number of outstanding questions to be resolved, ultimately suggesting that more work is needed to understand the association between aflatoxin and GBC. We agree with this conclusion, and in particular the point that the evaluation of genetic factors may be crucial. However, we would like to comment on a few of the specific issues raised in this letter.
