Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), along with other immune-mediated disorders are considered as idiopathic disease entities with no clearly identified etiology. However, they can be triggered by medications, immunotherapy and manipulation of gut microbiome. Other triggers like proctocolectomy have not been well described.
