I read the article of Chai et al1 with great interest. The authors have shown that the beneficial role of miR-122 induced by free fatty acids (FFA) in the reduction of triglyceride accumulation in the liver and muscle was mediated through retinoid-related orphan receptor alpha (RORα). However, there remain some controversial issues regarding the effects of miR-122 on hepatic lipid metabolism.
